Dear Jared,
It appears you felt the need to express yourself today. Why? To break free from the evil mind control of dear Uncle Sam, by killing a congresswoman (and as many innocent bystanders as possible in the process). In an attempt to make a statement one would assume. But about what? Literacy and lack of proper gold/silver reserves? Wouldn’t it have been far more poetic/ironic to assassinate her by beating her to death with a kilo bar of gold bullion? Now *that* would have made a statement!
You’ve obviously broken free of Big Brother and the thought police only to find yourself surrounded by a completely different set of boys in blue and roommates at the grey bar hotel. Do you feel better?
While I share your frustration with the fact most Americans have, at best, a tenuous grasp on the grammar and syntax of the language they wish every citizen to speak―flawlessly and without accent. And don’t *even* get me started on the Constitution. But I have to say, I can agree neither with your method nor the madness in your misguided attempt at taking Gabrielle Gifford’s life and needless murder of bystanders.
I think the thing I find most disturbing about your epic fail today is the fact in an eerie way life is beginning to reflect art. And it’s soooooo not as pretty as a Norman Rockwell painting.
In Terry Gilliam’s 1991 movie, The Fisher King a despondent radio shock jock, Jack Lucas is rescued as he attempts suicide by a homeless man named Parry. Parry, a former professor is homeless due to a downward spiral sparked by the death of his wife at the hands of deranged listener of Jack Lucas’ radio program. The listener, Edwin, goes on a shooting rampage in a restaurant at Jack’s urging when he tells him, “They’re evil, Edwin. They must be stopped.” Sound familiar?
It appears new a similar situation has developed in our so called real world. In July of 2009, Robert Anglen of the Arizona Republic reported the following in regard to the U.S. District Judge John Roll whom you murdered today with malice and in cold blood.
In February, when U.S. District Judge John Roll presided over a $32 million civil-rights lawsuit filed by illegal immigrants against an Arizona rancher, the Marshals Service was anticipating the fallout.
When Roll ruled the case could go forward, Gonzales said talk-radio shows cranked up the controversy and spurred audiences into making threats.
In one afternoon, Roll logged more than 200 phone calls. Callers threatened the judge and his family. They posted personal information about Roll online.
“They said, ‘We should kill him. He should be dead,’ ” Gonzales said.
I have to wonder. When is the madness going to stop?
When is someone, anyone, going to begin to hold the media whores responsible for incitement of incidents such as this to which they contribute on some level? When are station owners/media conglomerates going to cease to subscribe to their content? When are advertisers going to discontinue sponsorship? And more importantly, when are people going to stop allowing their minds to be polluted by such psychic garbage and stop listening to it?
While you may have a point with your ramblings about mind control, I think you’ve been sniffing up the wrong tree, putz. I don’t think it’s Uncle Sam about whom you need to be concerned in regard to your fear of thought control causing you to go all Max Headroom here, but rather the vast right-wing conspiracy we often hear so much about. As we sit teetering on the verge of economic collapse, the U.S. Government barely has the resources to ensure essential services are funded. It certainly hasn’t the means to monitor your every thought presently. Perhaps after the rebound they’re touting kicks in maybe, but even then highly doubtful.
The frightening this is you aren’t the first jackass to come within such close proximity to Ms. Giffords with a gun in his possession. In August of 2009, Gail Collins reported in The New York Times the following.
Representative Gabrielle Giffords, an Arizona Democrat, was not actually holding a town hall when her gun incident occurred. She was conducting a “Congress on Your Corner” at the Douglas Safeway — a simple event where people line up to get help with things like Social Security or documentation. But the health care protests have spread way beyond actual meetings about health care, and a handful of irritated conservatives have been following Giffords around almost everywhere. “When you represent a district — the home of the O.K. Corral and Tombstone, the town too tough to die, nothing’s a surprise,” she told a reporter later, showing a commendable ability to respond to any crisis by throwing in a plug for local tourist attractions.
Rudy Ruiz, the father of one of Giffords’s college interns, saw the gun hit the floor. “It was an older gentleman, 65 or so. Basically, he was one of the ones holding up a banner saying ‘Don’t Tread on Me,’ ” said Ruiz. “He bent over, and it fell out of the holster is what it did. It bounced. That concerned me. I just thought what would happen if it had gone off? Could my daughter have gotten hurt?”
Do you think the morons these days who are carrying around or flying the Gadsden flag have any clue about the history or significance of the flag? I have little doubt most (if not all) of the members of the Continental Congress are rolling over in their graves right now. If anyone who’s flying such a flag is doing so due to being inspired by any of the political “activists” of today to whom they may be listening, perhaps they might be better served by actually reading the history of the individuals who originally designed and flew the flag. Men who made huge sacrifices, often in their personal lives, to create a nation that would provide everyone the opportunity to live in freedom from tyranny. Cheap healthcare, wasn’t too much of an issue—staying alive was. And between you and me, looks like tyranny is blazing the comeback trail, if only it were the Government.
And beast begins to eat itself at an accelerated rate.
Well, if nothing else now you’ll have lots of time to read and write. Huh? Jared, your parents must be so proud….
