Player Queen:
Both here and hence pursue me lasting strife,
If once I be a widow, ever I be a wife!
Player King:
‘Tis deeply sworn. Sweet, leave me here a while,
My spirits grow dull, and fain I would beguile
The tedious day with sleep.
Player Queen:
Sleep rock thy brain,
And never come mischance between us twain!
Hamlet:
Madam, how like you this play?
Queen:
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
Hamlet Act 3, scene 2, 222–230
Dearest D.,
In the email you sent me the other day you stated, “I apologize for ever having ‘led you on’… That has NEVER been my intent. At most I’ve tried to be playful with you & perhaps that was wrong: I’m sorry.”
Wow. You never intended to lead me on? Frankly, I’m a little confused. In an email I sent you back in October I mentioned to you it had been a bit of difficult summer as I’d had a major disagreement with a long-time friend which lead to he and I terminating our friendship.
I also mentioned there had be a couple of guys with whom I’d had major dating disasters earlier in the year and as a result felt a little raw and gun-shy. However, I clearly expressed to you that I found you attractive and would be open to seeing how things may or may not develop between the two of us. You replied, “It doesn’t sound like you’re completely sure about anything in particular regarding me—other than you enjoy our times together. Same is true for me. I’m not sure I’m looking for anything more, different or specific; however, I’ve been open to realizing whatever this relationship can be since we first met.”
Maybe it’s just me, and I’m not a lawyer by any stretch of the imagination. But that kind of sounds like a leading statement to me.
At the most, you’ve tried to be playful. WTF? While I think you’ve got the word “play” correct. I’m not so sure the use of it as an adjective is appropriate in this case. I think the participle construction “been playing with” would be far more accurate. In which case, I’d say. Yeah, most people would most likely say it’s in your words, “wrong”.
For me, it’s not so much a question of right and wrong. Because as I’ve mentioned to you before. I don’t think in such terms. To me people, places, situations, and things simply are…I don’t attach value judgements with/to them. However, what I find far more interesting is the things we do, and more importantly why we do them.
And what I’d truly love to know, what do you believe gives you the right to play with someone in such a manner? How can you begin to imagine you have the right to play with someone’s emotions/feelings?
The funny thing is…I used to be just like you. My attitude was screw ‘em. My feelings have been hurt more than once, wadda I care? And when I led a guy on (and believe me I led more than one on and left him with a serious case of emotional blue balls), I did so because it made me feel very powerful. As leading a guy around by the nose can certainly convince one they’re the sh*t. In a very stark of moment of having a spiritual two by four cracked over my head in my late 20s early 30s, I learned very quickly. I’m certainly less than the sh*t. And discovered the reason I behaved the way I did was due to the fact I felt such little love for and cared so little about myself.
So maybe this moment with you is a bit of karmic comeuppance of sorts. To paraphrase Joni Mitchell by the way of Judy Collins, I’m looking at life from both sides now. And now I understand how much it sucks to be jerked around in such a manner.
I can’t help but wonder how much longer this torture will continue.
I hope you’re having an enjoyable weekend.

I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn’t freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing the DVD. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn’t any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it’s frozen. They said nothing was wrong hardware wise, and that I had 6 viruses on the laptop. Well now, all those viruses are removed, and my laptop is still skipping and freezing when I play DVDs..to the point where I have to turn off the computer without shutting it down. Also, now it freezes and makes a weird noises when I’m not playing any audio. If it’s not viruses, and geek squad said everything is fine with the computer physically, then what is it?

I know that when you completely wipe a computer you have to wait for the prompt during start up that says “press any key to boot from disk” but what happens when you dont see that message? How do you format it then? Yes i am trying to wipe xp in order to reinstall xp (nasty virus tried EVERYTHING else) any more info needed just let me know… If it helps at all my computer is a Lenovo

Hey Gemsa. Thanks for comment. Sounds like the hard drive is dead. Good luck with the laptop. TGL
Whenever I try to uninstall Spy Sweeper, I get a prompt saying the uninstall program doesn’t exist (same result whether I do this through Start menu or Add or Remve Programs). I DLed Ccleaner and Revo but they don’t uninstall it either. I also tried reinstalling and then uninstalling but the installation cannot be completed because of an error. Using the cd won’t do the trick either; it cannot complete installation (error message). What may have caused this is a recent system restore that I had executed to prevent the progression of a virus after Spy Sweeper had already been uninstalled (I think). I’m not sure but is it possible that that had something to do with it? Please help me get rid of this crappy program.

Hey Nanny W. Thanks for the comment. Wow. Sorry to hear about all the problems with Webroot. Wish I could help, but it looks like you may need to reinstall your desktop. Have you tried AVG? A friend of mine uses their product. I was considering going with Webroot because a neighbor recommended it. But, I’m thinking I may switch to AVG now that I hear about your problems. I hope you get things under control there. TGL
Hi there! I’ve right now realized that your blog looks like it has a few code errors at the side of the web page. I wonder if other folks are receiving this exact same problem when surfing around? I am utilizing a different web browser then most visitors so i have no idea if that’s contributing to the difficulty.
Hey Isreal. What browser are you using? eg
